RENOVATIONS

Renovating your property can breathe new life into your existing home and tailor your current space to your changing needs over time. Similar to extensions, this is often more economical than moving and has the benefit of adding value to a property. See our renovation projects

Often more cost-effective than moving, adding an extension to your property can provide you with the luxury of additional space to grow and increases the value of your home without the logistical headache of moving house. See our extension projects

Our process

1. Starting off on the right foot

We build a thorough understanding of all the factors that impact and shape the cost of your project. We then prepare an itemised quote which we’ll talk through in detail and answer any questions. We aim to be fully transparent and ensure you know what is included (or not) and contractually document this.

We clearly communicate what’s what – with a payment and project schedule, a progress tracker, a contingency and provisional sum tracker, variation orders, legal documents, and key personnel and project contacts.

2. The power of communication

Throughout your project, we communicate and record schedule/costs and any changes, regular meetings and updates. You’ll also have a direct point of contact at our end to keep you up to speed.

We only work with tried-and-tested, highly skilled and experienced subcontractors/tradespeople. Often, we manage this relationship, but if you prefer to deal directly, that’s absolutely fine too. We’re flexible, organised, and happy to work in a way that suits you.

3. A high quality finish

Once your project is at the completion stage, we don’t just walk away. We work hard to establish a lasting relationship with our clients. Should you ever have any questions or need some building advice, we’re here to help.

Don’t forget, we are members of the Federation of Master Builders, who keep an eye on our work and our processes to ensure we uphold their values, and we’re independently checked for Health & Safety too. As an ethical and socially conscious business, we’re absolutely committed to ensuring quality.

Your questions answered

We’re very experienced in delivering a wide range of projects of varying kinds and types. We don’t tend to do very small refurb jobs (one room!) or really small garden landscaping jobs. But, you’re always welcome to drop us a line and tell us about your project and if we don’t think we’re quite right for you, we’ll be honest from the outset – and there’s no harm done!

Yes, indeed we do! Most of the large projects we work on have an architect in the mix. We’re used to working as a team with all the stakeholders involved and delivering on your (or the architect’s) vision.

No, not at all. In fact, it’s often better to start the conversation with us as early in the process as possible.

We can provide advice and signpost you to other relevant professionals to support you though the planning process. If you feel we would be a good match for your future project, we are happy to keep in touch throughout this process. By developing our dialogue and relationship during these early stages, it gives us a head start to plan the job and discuss requirements in advance.

Yes we do. Because we’re working in a part of the world where the predominant building is natural stone, we have to be as accomplished at our stonework as we are with our brickwork. It’s also worth saying we have excellent connections to local quarries if your planning (or your plan!) requires a very specific material to meet the needs of the local vernacular.

Yes! We love barn conversions and welcome any opportunities to work on these projects. We’re highly experienced in stonework (often an essential skill for barn conversions in the South Cotswolds and North Wiltshire area). We’re also experts in steelwork, and timber frame construction which, depending the type of barn it is – will be an essential skill for your building partner.

Yes we do. Listed properties need tender, loving care and plenty of precision. We’re very experienced in working on older properties and, where necessary, are able to (and happy to) work with heritage specialists to deliver precisely what is needed to maintain the character and fabric of the building.

Absolutely! Timber framed construction requires specialist skills and it’s a material we’re passionate about using on projects. From timber frames, to timber cladding (internal and external) and timber within the landscaping – we’re able to help. We’ve got strong connections with our local sawmill (merchants) and aim to source all of our timbers from certified woodlands. Take a look at our case studies page for example.
